Two-dimensional (2D) materials are a unique class of materials with a wide range of tunable physical and chemical properties. These atomically thin materials enable diverse applications with far-reaching impacts on existing technologies. Within the 2D-Mat-Net network, we connect research institutions and companies to generate application-oriented expertise and establish new value chains. Our network offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular a unique opportunity to develop innovative research and development projects together with strong academic partners at both national and international levels. In specialized working groups, different approaches, experiences, and ideas are evaluated and discussed among network partners, with the goal of transforming them into development plans and business models.

The focused innovation fields are:

  • 2D Materials Production
  • Sensor Applications
  • Photonic Applications
  • Energy Storage & Conversion
  • Filtration & H2 Technologies
